The Metadata Editor is a complete metadata authoring tool, used to convert, document, edit, and publish micro datasets. It is a custom-branded version of a commercial package, the Nesstar Publisher provided by Nesstar Ltd. Users of the Metadata Editor can easily create documentation that is consistent with both the Data Documentation Initiative (DDI) and the Dublin Core (DC) metadata specifications, without needing to be familiar with the XML language. With its companion application, the CD-ROM Builder, the Metadata Editor can be used to publish survey documentation, datasets, and related documentation to CD-ROMs, DVDs, or websites. It can also be used to publish microdata and the accompanying documentation to a Nesstar Server, allowing users to tabulate and analyze data on-line
